This was the first recumbent bicycle I ever built. It's a front wheel drive, rear suspended bike. I originally made it for myself but my son Peter wound up adopting it as his grocery hauling bike. I had called this bike the PeugLow since the core of the bike is an old Peugeot mixte-frame bike but Peter, whose nickname is the Weasel, rechristened it the WeezLow. The front section of the bike used to be part of a Bridgestone Picnica folding bike and the rear section was part of a Motobecane Grand Record that was involved in a nasy accident. The big 64 tooth chainring was made by Joe Kochanowski from a sheet of aluminum.

The WeezLow

Here's a close up view of the drive train.

Here's the back end of the bike. Two left cranks attach to the bottom bracket of the old Motobecane and an axel goes through the dropouts of the Peugeot frame. Old bike inner tubes frovide the elastic for the suspension. The seatback is a thrift store backpack frame and the supports are aluminum tubes taken from a pair of crutches.
