NORTHWEST LOW DOWN & LAID BACK RECUMBENT RIDERS
OCT '98-JAN '99 Version 10.1
'BENT FOLKS WHO RIDE
The Low Down & Laid Back Recumbent Riders are a laid back group of folks who get together once a week to hang out, ride and talk about recumbent bicycles. The rides are social with average speeds range from 10-18 mph. The NWLDLBRR is a non-club with no dues, organization, mailing address, bank account etc. We just show up and ride.
IMPORTANT: Riders must be take responsibility for their own safety. This are casual, no-host rides-ride at your own risk. You should be prepared to handle your own sag, repairs, etc. Anybody or any kind of bikes are welcome.
Our winter riding will be primarily from Coulon Park in Renton, WA. We generally ride rain or shine, unless there is snow/ice on the ground. We have never had less than two riders show up, so take a chance and come out and ride. If it's raining, we do a short 20 mile ride to Tully's Coffee on Mercer Island
RENTON/COULON PARK
Coulon Park in Renton, WA (SE corner of Lk. WA.) on Lake Wash. Blvd. N., off 405 at NE Park Dr. We meet near the tennis courts. Rides are approx. 20-30 miles with optional loops. Saturdays we ride up the west side of Lk. Wa. To Seward Park, across the I90 bridge bike path and have a sandwich or latte at ZiPani on Mercer Island. Sunday rides are 20 mile RT to Tully's Coffee on Mercer Island. This departure point is very flexible--the group will decide where to ride. These are both very low stress pleasant rides, though you should be capable of riding 20-30 miles.
SATURDAY Coulon Park rides: show up at 10am for a 10:20am SHARP departure SUNDAY Coulon Park rides: show up at 1pm for a 1:20 pm SHARP departure BE COURTEOUS TO OTHER RIDERS AND ARRIVE ON-TIME

IMPORTANT UPDATES
EAST-SIDE -- Kent's east side rides will resume in the Spring or notice will be sent via email.
WEDNESDAY -- If there is enough interest, we will revive these weekly rides in May.
BAKERY RIDES -- We will no longer be using the Black Diamond route due to traffic safety concerns.
1999 SCHEDULING -- Due to business concerns, I (Bob) will not be able to devote as much time to the rider group as I have in the past. I am currently looking for a volunteer to lead the group and to handle ride scheduling. If one cannot be found, my plan is to make the group self-supporting with rides that start at the same place/time. This is truly the only way we can keep the rider group informal.
